Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink 4, 5, 6 May –Back for its 16th year, the South West’s ultimate food event will be returning to Exeter this May in the idyllic surroundings of Exeter Castle Courtyard and Northernhay Gardens.
Each year the ever-growing festival sees thousands of visitors flock from the surrounding areas to feast on a vast array of culinary activities, making it the social event of the summer; watch best Michelin–starred chefs, MasterChef winners and top, local chefs cooking live in the Chefs Theatre cooking their favourite recipes and giving you top tips.

Ely’s Food and Drink Festival, 5, 6 May. Located in the shadow of Ely Cathedral on Palace Green, artisan and specialist food and drink traders will be showcasing their wares. At the Cookery Theatre, meet Hala Al-Shafie, the nutritionist from TV series such as “How to Lose Weight Well, “Eat Well for Less” and “Sugar Free Farm” as well as the award-winning Italian chef Aldo Zilli, along with some of the much-loved local chefs.
Seafood Festival, The Seaforth, Ullapool 4-6 May – The Seaforth celebrates its history with an inaugural Seafood Festival; build your own Seafood platter, try and taste something new or enjoy any one of our popular Seafood dishes.
Salcombe Crab Festival 5 May – A annual, family-friendly festival, it celebrates local fishing, food and tourism industries. Enjoy a full day of events including cookery demos, crab picking masterclasses, live music and much more. At the demonstration kitchen, watch celebrity chefs Matt Tebbutt (BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped), Jack Stein (chef director of the Rick Stein Group, TV presenter and author) and Mitch Tonks (award-winning restaurateur, chef and author) show off their skills alongside some of the best local chefs..
St Ives Food and Drink Festival 10,11,12 May Porthminster Beach – Welcoming top chefs and local music acts, the family Festival will remove its daytime entry fee for the first time in 2019 to allow more people to experience the annual foodie celebrations. Then there’ll be live music events in the evening, which will be ticketed.
Althorp Food and Drink Festival 11, 12 May – Family-friendly festival showcasing the best food and drink producers and suppliers that Northamptonshire and the surrounding counties have to offer. It aims to champion local producers’ and suppliers’ products. World-renowned chefs including Jean-Christophe Novelli and Ken Hom OBE will be leading some enticing demonstrations, all included in the standard ticket price. Shellfish Association of Great Britain 50th anniversary conference 14, 15 May – The annual occasion in the UK shellfish calendar when the “who’s who” of the industry come together to hear about the latest research, learn about management of stocks, discuss how to market shellfish effectively and, of course, network; held in the magnificent surroundings of Fishmongers’ Hall, the conference attracts world–class speakers from the UK, Europe and beyond.
Fishing News Awards 16 May – Held in Aberdeen, the event is dedicated to shining a spotlight on the achievements, expertise and innovation in the UK and Ireland’s commercial fishing industries during 2018. The Doubletree Aberdeen Treetops hotel will once again be the venue, and it promises to be another night to remember. This year’s proceedings will be hosted by Scottish comedian Des Clarke, who will MC the awards and provide after-dinner entertainment.
Whitchurch Food and Drink Festival 18, 19 May – The sixth annual will be celebrating all things great about food and drink available in the North Shropshire area. The indoor festival is totally free with lots of activities to entertain the children.
Crab & Lobster Festival 18, 19 May – Fund raising event for local charities, cookery demonstrations, market stalls and live music. The festival is dedicated to promoting our local seafaring heritage and active fishing community and celebrates local restaurants, chefs, crafts, chutney’s, jams, cakes, charcuterie and so much more. Come and experience all that the Norfolk Coast has to offer.
Beccles Food and Drink Festival 25 May – The Festival features over 70 food and drink stalls, many of them local artisan producers, as well as those from further afield in East Anglia. Based in the centre of the vibrant market town, the Festival will include cookery demonstrations and talks, music and children’s entertainment.
Ashby Food Gusto Food & Drink Festival 25, 26 May – Join the Annual Ashby Food Gusto Festival and experience the Region’s Best Food & Drink.
