Cast your vote for the UK’s top young fishmonger

YFAVoting for the Master Fishmonger Standard Young Fishmonger Award 2019 is now open!

A shortlist of four candidates will battle it out for the accolade of MFS Young Fishmonger of the Year. The award recognises young people under the age of 25 who have made an outstanding contribution to the fishmonger trade, looking at their technical knowledge and skills as well as their passion for the industry.

Candidates were asked to submit videos where they demonstrated their knife skills, customer service and support for the trade. Click here to watch the entries and vote for your favourite candidate.

The winner will be decided by a combination of the public vote and a panel of certified Master Fishmongers and announced at the Master Fishmonger Awards ceremony at Fishmongers’ Hall on 3rd June. Votes close at midnight on 29th May.

 

The four candidates are as follows:

– Ryan Caston, Hales & Moore Fishmongers’, Rainham, Kent

– Jordan Keig, The Fishmarket, Robinsons Fresh Food, the Isle of Man

– Lorenzo Collett – The Fresh Fish Shop, Haywards Heath, West Sussex

– George Hooper – GCH Fishmongers, Bedford

This award is the latest in the Master Fishmonger Standard series, rewarding fishmongers at all stages, from early career professionals at the Recognised level through to the Master standard for those with over 10 years of experience and the Companion Standard for retired fishmongers.
