Each year, these neighbouring Norfolk towns use this long May weekend to celebrate the sea’s bounty, and also to patch up their differences – they have long been fierce local rivals. Sample the day’s catch at any of the 35 restaurants participating in the towns’ Seafood Trail, and visit the Heritage Village, where local fishermen demonstrate the pot-mending, net-braiding, traditional lobster catching and crabbing techniques that have allowed the towns to supply England with an abundance of seafood since the early 19th century.
