Our interactive map is constantly growing with new fishermen, fishmongers and merchants from across the country. Each week we will feature some of the new entries to the site, telling the story of the methods they use to catch, prepare and sell their seafood and the range of species available across the UK.
Simper’s Silver Harvest, Ramsholt, Suffolk, England

Simper’s Silver Harvest LLP is a partnership of Robert Simper, his son Jonathan and his son Harry operating on the Suffolk Coast. Jonathan and Harry are both qualified commercial boat skippers and Harry, one of the youngest qualified skippers on the East Coast, was awarded Young Fisherman of the Year 2015 for his commitment and achievements in the profession. Together they land the freshest Suffolk day boat fish such as Cod, Skate, Crab, Lobster, Herring, Bass, Dover Sole, Plaice and Flounder.
Within a half  an hour’s drive of Ramsholt, they offer a fish box delivery service, creating mixed boxes made up of the daily catch, with £25 worth of filleted fish ready to cook or freeze. Customers receive an email outlining the daily content of the box from which they can place an order.

Local Shellfish Sales, Isle of Skye, Scotland

Whilst COVID-19 means that Skye’s fishermen can no longer sell to the UK’s restaurant trade, many fishermen on the Island are now selling direct from the quayside and offering delivery services to surrounding areas. Local Shellfish Sales, provides a platform for local fishermen to advertise their catch, let you know where they are selling from  and how to get in touch.
Made up of the local shellfish fleet, these fishermen offer the freshest crabs, lobsters and prawns, landed live on the Isle of Skye.
 
The Pembrokeshire Beachfood Company, Pembrokeshire, Wales

A bit different to our regular fishermen and fishmongers, the Pembrokeshire Beachfood Company run an online shop, offering the finest beachfood deli items Specialists in artisan seaweed products, all hand picked from sustainable seaweed stocks in Pembrokeshire.
Beginning as a way to get founder Jonathan, away from the office desk and back next to the sea, they now run a solar-powered-mobile-converted-fishing-boat-seaweed-kitchen called Cafe Mor (open Easter-September) which sells freshly cooked seafood and seaweed produce from the beach at Freshwater West. For those further afield the online store provides a range of products using the local supply of seaweed including truffle butter, pesto and Welshman’s caviar.

McKeowns Fish & Poultry, Bangor, Northern Ireland

First opened in 1891 McKeowns Fish Shop is Bangor’s oldest established businesss. Sean McKeown’s grandfather James opened the shop which then passed onto his son John. Sean is now third generation owner, having entered the family business at the young age of 15 and taking hold of the reins in the 1960’s when his father John passed away.Offering salmon, organic salmon, cod, whiting, trout as well as battered cod and scampi, McKeowns provide a delivery and collection service for customers around County Down.
